I hope Holly isn't girl #9....That would strain credibility. For one thing, in actual police procedure, Matheson would be off the case immediately; he wouldn't be anywhere near the suspect, never mind alone in an interrogation room with him. I really, really hope Holly isn't involved--too melodramatic for my taste.

Matheson, Taylor and Lyndon have had a get together and Matheson has sent drunken tweets on Lyndon's laptop! Also they sang Bohemian Rhapsody to her!

"It's 3 months since Sian was taken"
Sian was/is Mathesons girlfriend/wife?

I really, really hope Holly isn't involved--too melodramatic for my taste. I'm wondering if it might be that Boylan use knowledge of Holly to taunt Matheson; rather than her being taken before he's arrested he could imply that she could be next if Boylan is released? It would definitely be a way to wind up Matheson. "It's 3 months since Sian was taken" Sian was/is Mathesons girlfriend/wife? It does look as though Sian was Matheson's partner; if he's in mourning it would explain why he's a little frayed around the edges...

if sian has been kidnapped/killed maybe boylan has somthing to do with it and that why Matheson pulls the gun on him and Lyndon tells him not to let him get in his head

Maybe Sian IS girl number 9? She could be someone who comes back who he thought dead?

I doubt that Sian would be girl number 9 as it's been children that have been taken.
Also - they got him! I felt like celebrating til I remembered it's not real!

Holly might be Girl Number 9! And they wouldn't know whether she was because Boylen is not saying anything.

The girl currently inside is girl number 8; she's going to die. The Matheson detective's daughter is number 9.
But there's a riddle, a puzzle to it, therefore a solution...and it'll be along psycho's terms of thinking.

What doesn't fit though is if he's a single dad. Boyland would already have to have her before he got captured so how could she be missing and Matheson not know?

I'm crossing my fingers that Girl#9 is not Holly. This is so good so far--I'm hoping that that isn't the plot development. Please let the quality of the show stay high.....................

Maybe Boylen is implying to Matheson that Holly is Girl Number 9 but isn't really - maybe there actually isn't one but Boylen is taunting Matheson all the time which is why he is getting more and more angry and agitated.

What doesn't fit though is if he's a single dad. Boyland would already have to have her before he got captured so how could she be missing and Matheson not know? In episode one just before Lyndon tells Matheson to be careful Matheson says someone says hello dose he say Holly or Hannah? IF he said Hannah then maybe she is a new girlfriend or child minder and there is someone working with Boyland and Holly gets taken that way pretending to be a friend of Mathesons.

It's already dicey enough that Matheson pulls a gun on the handcuffed, unarmed Boylan: I'm having a hard enough time accepting the realism of that act. Any defense attorney would be all over that, as grounds to disallow any confession. If Holly is Girl#9, credibility is thoroughly strained.
I'm hoping that Matheson goes over the table because of something utterly vile said by Boylan. And I'm having a difficult time imagining what could believably make an experienced detective risk the entire case by pulling a gun on an unarmed suspect.

Also, British police don't carry guns as a general rule except in special circumstances.
I think Matheson said "Helen said hi!"
