The trailer looks great and I look forward to watching the finished article.
I'd love to ask lots of questions about costs, marketing, post production etc.
What you've learned from the process and what you would do differently next time.
Having just finished principle photography on a web series of eight episodes x 15mins.
I'm not going to publicise it here, for obvious reasons. But points of interest are - we're based in Ireland - like yourselves we shot it in HD [using two Canon XH A1s] like James I'm an established writer - first time director / producer. Like yourselves we've tried to break new ground. We have a cast of over forty actors and had a crew on and off of twenty. However no one got paid, mostly we're all unemployed down to the recession and we started as a reaction to that, everyone volunteered, and our budget of €24k, most of which went into buying the equipment, was squeezed from the tightly gripped fingers of local govt bodies.
We're in post now and trying to find more funds for it and marketing [Think we have €1k left LOL], building to a launch in January.
I believe that the internet is the future of drama and that pioneers such as ourselves will be at the forefront of any revolution. Why go through broadcasters anymore?
So once again congratulations as I'm sure you've checked out the opposition, as I have done, and this is the first time I've felt inclined to post on a site.
I would understand if you are too busy to respond, or didn't feel inclined to... but love to chat either on or off line. I would also be happy to recommend Girl Number 9 to our Facebook group [which at the moment stands at 434 members] in fact that's already done.
all the best
Len
