Well, we have a long wait til Monday so let's pass the time by discussing the first ep. What did we all think? I think I probably enjoyed it more for having followed the twitter narrative and already having a "relationship" with the characters. I loved how fast it was though and that it managed to be funny and tense and leave me shaking all in 5 mins. I thought the performances from the three main actors were superb. Joe Absolom is managing to scare the shit out of me. Since when does "You silly sausage" sound threatening? *shudder*

I guess it does from now on. I think it was awesome. Kinda reminded me of Saw when first seeing it. At the second time I started to work along the story, thinking if I missed something. I guess the detectiv in me is starting to work on this case already. Can't wait to see how it conitunes and am curious when I'll beknowing where the girl is hidden.

It was brilliant ;D
I agree that the Twitter narrative helped, it was great seeing the characters we feel like we've already got to know.

Shamazipan, you have said exactly what I thought about the programme. It was excellent and managed to get over the creepiness all in five minutes.
I do hope this is a great success - they all deserve it.
There is a trailer/teaser for the second episode on tonight, presumably at 9pm.

I was out last night (doh), so I've just watched it. Flippin brilliant. I have to say I was relieved that the ninth girl wasn't Matheson's daughter, I think there's quite enough tension already!! Agree with everyone that the Twitter feeds really added another dimension to this. I already knew who everyone was and it was cool to finally see them. How the hell they are supposed to find her in 30 minutes and counting I don't know - can't wait to find out.
I'm hoping, already, that this gets picked up for a series.

That certainly met expectations. Boylan is like some coiled, venomous snake. My favorite moment was Matheson's facing Boylan for the first time--the play of thoughts across GDL's face as Matheson listens to Boylan and instantly evaluates everything he's saying; you can see Matheson's mind working. Brilliant bit.
And nice use of GDL's physically imposing presence....Strapping Matheson standing quiet, still and contained, as opposed to the slight, twitchy Boylan, eyes darting everywhere.
Bring on Monday.

You really get the feeling of Matheson being a big man. In Torchwood Gareth always seemed smaller than John, whereas they are exactly the same height! Gareth is a brilliant actor and this is just the sort of thing which brings out his skills.
Cannot wait for the next episode on Monday - and the teaser/trailer today.

Barrowman's Burly Scotsman physique was always played up in TW by the suspenders and, of course, the coat, whereas Ianto's immaculately tailored suits created a slimmer line for GDL. It was CoE (*spits*) that really showed GDL's physique, when Ianto ditched the suit jacket of the silver-gray pinstripe outfit....
Well, that was off topic.
Matheson's rumpled, ill-fitting, off the rack clothes only make him look that much bigger--not to mention that GDL is bigger: love the shot of him and Lyndon looking at the laptop. He makes two of her! He's got shoulders like a linebacker's.
Which all is going to make the full scene of Matheson's going over the interrogation table after Boylan that much more impressive. Can't wait to find out what it is that Boylan says that makes Matheson lose that calm, assessing distance.

I wonder if Gareth played Rugby in his schooldays. I know he enjoys it, being a Welshman.

What i noticed today rewatching ep 1 was the clock ticking in the interview room. Didn't notice it before but when I did it really put me on edge!
