I still wonder if Boylen is not actually telling the truth but is winding Matheson up (for want of a better phrase!) If Holly is living with Matheson and Boylen was in custody before he arrived at the station, how can he have Holly?
I am still in awe of Gareth's acting skills and agree with Joanna about him being wasted in the part of Ianto, much as I loved the character.

I'm pinning my hopes on "all is not as it seems" as the way to pull this out of the "only a parent would really be human enough to become fully engaged" cliche....Such an incredibly irritating old saw. But, even if the show ends up to be just that, it's still worth it as a showcase for what GDL can do. I don't think Ianto was a waste of GDL's talent's, either--actually, I think Ianto was also a showcase, especially considering what GDL was able to do with an underwritten, under-utilized character. Admittedly, CoE was a waste of GDL's time and talent, but at least GDL pulled down a paycheck for that one. Kind of what the Sherlock Holmes B movie looks to be--a grocery buyer. As revolting as the killing is--I have to rewatch just to study how GDL performs it. Perfect example of his timing: Matheson processes before he actually reacts--what he witnesses has to register before he can be horrified; when his mind can register that what he just saw did, in fact, happen, he can lose it.

Thinking on I understand what you are saying. It was because of Gareth's fine acting skills that Ianto became the person he was in Torchwood. If another actor had taken the part I doubt the role would have been expanded as it was.
I am in awe!

just wondering has anyone noticed the white writing on the wall of the warehouse in the picture in the play section. i cant read it properly but i think it says girl number nine something something. I did. Tried to enhance that picture a bit so it's possible to read what's written there. Well, it's not very good but... Click me if you want to see it, do not if you don't!!!

It looks like "Girl number 4 was here". I enlarged it by holding down the CTRL key and rolling the mouse wheel away. That enlarged the picture on the screen.

Sorry, sort of going back a step with my reply here...
Sort of agree with what some people are saying about the "I have your daughter" thing being a bit "thriller by numbers", but I have faith in the creators that this is going to be something a bit different.
We keep being told that nothing is as it seems, and we have 3 eps left. With all that has happened in the first three short eps, everything can still change...

It does look like a continental 7 with the stroke across the middle - or a 4!
