What I found to be most unsatisfying is that Matheson never questioned how he'd know that Holly was safe, after he'd died. How could he trust Boylan to save her? Assuming he was going to save her by using this second code number, who was he going to give it to? Who could type it in? Matheson would be dead, and the CCTV is out, and the key is broken off in the lock of the door, so Matheson has no reason to believe that anyone will get in there fast enough for Boylan to give them the 'lifesaving' code number. I know, he's all freaked out about his daughter, but still, he's not stupid.
I might have believed that Matheson would buy anything Boylan told him about how Holly would be saved, because he was so emotionally distraught, but I can't buy into Matheson's not asking at all.
As for Boylan's knowledge that the other officer's wife should be getting out of yoga class, how many people could he have abducted and set up before he was captured, without anyone noticing that they've gone missing?
I really liked the characters, the plot and the previous episodes. The ending just left me disappointed.
